About Dotty
Dotty is our second Brazilian Type 2. Like Tilly she has the classic flat four engine (complete with ‘proper’ classic VW soundtrack!) but benefits from fuel injection which makes these Brazilians more economical than the original German versions.
Dotty was also born in 2005 in the Sao Bernard do Campo plant before coming over to Danbury for conversion to a campervan with the top of the range ‘Rio’ spec.
Finished in classic Niagarablau over white with light pine interior and blue upholstery she’s another lovely looking camper and you’ll find people ambling over in campsites to have a closer look. Also fitted with a cab heater which takes care of the cool in the mornings Dotty has a lifting roof with accommodation for 2 children upstairs with 2 adults in the fold out bed.
Dotty has seating for 4, and the seat belt set up comprises of three 3 point seat belts, the final rear seat belt being a lap belt.
How Dotty is set up
Our vans are perfectly set up for your adventure.
- Smart electric system for powered site hook-ups or standalone camping.
- On board ‘Webasto’ cab heater which provides plenty of heat for on and off site camping
- For off-site camping you have a 2nd ‘house’ battery for lights etc so you can’t run down the engine battery, this charges automatically when you drive or are plugged in at a campsite. You can also run and charge your own electic items via the 12v ‘car’ plugs.
- Waeco fridge that really works
- ¾ length vertically raising roof which permits provides a sleeping areas for 2 children or 1 adult (80 kgs max)
- Fold down ¾ bed suitable for 2 adults
- 4 seat belts – one of the rear being of lap belt design.

- Cutlery and crockery for the number of passengers on board

- Teabags, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper
- Torch, Collins Road Map, notepad, pen etc
- Fire extinguisher and fire blanket, carbon monoxide alarm, first aid kit
- Memberships: AA Roadside Assistance and Recovery, Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Pack (temporary membership for access to campsites and all discount entitlements)
